7 Weeks Old

Hard to believe, but Oscar turned 7 weeks old today! He's evidently going through a growth spurt and adding weight to show for it.

Pajama Day!

The day after all our company left, I declared "Pajama Day"...Oscar and I stayed in our jammies all day long and basically relaxed and recouperated. (Thanks, cousin Brigi for Oscar's nook...he loves it!)

Cozy Morning

Dave and I have a good system worked out in the mornings: After Oscar's 5 AM feeding, I put him down on the bed to have some good "daddy time" while I get ready for the day, as Oscar is usually up for the long hall after that. Well, this morning it was different--Oscar fell back asleep with his hand on Dave's face all snuggled up together and let me tell you--it sure melted my heart. The photos are dark, but you get the picture of how cozy my boys were!

Fantasy Football

As mentioned earlier, this weekend was the Fantasy Football league, comprised mostly of family and some friends and held every year for the past 8 years. We have representatives from MN, WI, SD, and even a member who flies in from Europe every year (Katie's brother "Uncle Billy"). We had a BLAST...the weather was PERFECT for the grillout, the drafters to draft, the kids to play and watch a movie outside, and the rest of us to sit back and chat.

Schlomer Invasion!

The Schlomers (amongst others) have invaded MN (and our home) for the annual Fantasy Football Draft. Dave won last year's, so we were due to host this year. This was also Oscar's first meeting of all of his WI aunts, uncles, and cousins...He LOVED all the snuggles he recieved.

Chunk

Now that Oscar's been around for a month, here are some photos that give a good example of his attempts and chunking up: notice the chubby cheeks, the double-chin emerging, dimples in his hands, and the lil' round belly working on growing. He's a cute little chunk.

The Many Looks of Oscar--Part One: Pirate Eye

In honor of Oscar's look of "Pirate Eye" (a look that has charmed me since day one), today was "Pirate Day" in our house. Well, for me, anyway...I dressed for the occasion.

The one dark and blurry photo below is an attempt at capturing Oscar's Pirate Eyes...but it's quite elusive.

Man or Elf? You Decide.

During pregnancy, I always teased Dave that I had Schniblet's father narrowed down to two: either him or Legolas (elf warrior from Lord of the Rings). When Oscar was born, everyone confirmed that he looked a lot like Dave. But now, at further analysis of his somewhat-pointy ear, I'm not so sure.... :)
