South Dakota to Celebrate

Grandpa Richard Schlomer turned 90 years old, and he and Grandma Vivian celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary--both GREAT reasons for a roadtrip to SD earlier this month to celebrate! Tons of family gathered to put on a "program" for Grandpa and just generally be together.

ps--this is the bug that flew on Evie's head. It was furry and HUGE!






There is something so strikingly beautiful about South Dakota--but I've got it in my blood, so I'm biased. Well, see for yourself:

Aaaaargh!

I know we're not quite to the "International Talk Like a Pirate Day" (Sept. 19, so you're prepared), but recently we went to a neighborhood carnival, and Oscar got his first tattoo. A pirate ship. It was "randomly" chosen for him. Then he "won" at the fishing pond, and ironically got an eye patch.

Coincidence? I think not.




And, of course, we couldn't let Oscar have all the fun!

It Started Off So Innocently

All I wanted to do was capture the way the morning light created shadows on our wall. See? Isn't it lovely?


But...then I noticed that when I put it on "auto" timer...it captured MY shadow as well.


It all went downhill from there.
