HE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
He went to bed around 9:30 PM...when I awoke to tend to his squaking, I happened to looke over at the clock (expecting 1 AM...3 AM...) and it was 5:15 AM!!!!! He basically slept eight hours. Booyah. Don't I just look bright-eyed and bushy-(piggy)tailed?! Let's hope this is a new habit!

Oscar's inner dialogue: "Why is she so excited? My minions don't usually look this rested. Hmmm... I'd better be extra cranky today to make up for it so they don't get soft."

Apple Orchard!...Part One
Oscar experienced his first apple-pickin' day with ma and pa...an annual autumn tradition in our family. He decided he liked Honey Crisp the best!

A gorgeous fall day.

He basically slept through the entire exprience.

And an Oscar makes three...

Who doesn't like a good hay bale?!

Went with friends Patty, Joe, Mary, and Joe-Joe.

Happy "Talk Like a Pirate Day"!
Coo
Wow, I am so blessed to be able to witness this day after day. This was in response to me sticking out my tongue at OD...he apparantely thinks it's hilarious!
(And, don't worry...that was just a little cough at the end because of all the excitement.)

Bjorn-It!
While taking a walk to look at house colors for inspiration for our next house project (redoing our siding due to hail damage), Dave and Oscar got to try out the baby bjorn for the first time. Ozzie loved it...fell asleep immediately---his stamp of approval.
This is the coloring we're thinking of for the house....on a much smaller scale, of course.

First Roadtrip! Part 5: The Long Ride Home
Well, the ride home was a bit more eventful than the ride TO Wisconsin. All was well untill we past Eau Claire and I heard Dave say "Uh Oh"...and pull over on the shoulder of I-94. The car wouldn't get out of first gear, so here we were, going about 20 mph and wondering what to do. Luckily, we were able to coast down the Colfax/Elk Moun exit and almost made it to the gas station parking lot before the car stopped. God is good, though, because it could have been SO worse. We ended up joining AAA, and unpacking our "essentials" from the car before it got picked up for a tow to the Cities...and we hung outside the gas station for about 4 hours until our knight in shining armor, Dave Dover, was able to come and pick us up. (PS--the car's converter belt shattered and basically the car's engine needs to be replaced, so DAve and I are going to live off of one car for awhile.)

Hanging out outside the gas station...Oscar did SO well!

Lucky for us, this store was right next door. Ha ha ha.

Oscar snuggling with daddy after we moved inside the gas station due to chilly weather.

Our friend, Dover, rescuing us. It really wasn't that bad, but the most tragic thing was the gas station didn't have one of those automatic hot chocolate machines! :)

First Roadtrip! Part 4: Iron Man!
Go, Emily, Go! The main purpose of this road trip was to cheer on my dear friend, Emily, as she did her first Iron Man triatholon. After 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking, and then 26.2 miles (a full marathon) of running, Emily ended up being in the top 15% of the 2,200 athletes and took SIXTH PLACE in her age division! So glad that she acheived so much from all her hard work--and had a blast doing it! We had a blast cheering her on...and she gave Oscar an Iron Man outfit to prove he'd been there.
Waiting
Here she comes!
There she is...
there she goes...
